It is with deep and infinite sadness that we learned of the sudden death of our colleague and friend Xavier Le Roux on the 2nd July. Xavier was a talented research engineer who was passionate about developing new technological processes for the realisation of innovative photonic nano devices and microsystems. His positive character, his communicative good humour, his willingness and efficiency to tackle major technological challenges were some of his great qualities. Many of his colleagues, as well as students, engineers, technicians and researchers from C2N and from external national and international laboratories, benefited from his great expertise. C2N, CNRS and the research community have lost a person of exceptional human and professional qualities.
