The HYPNOTIC project, coordinated by Fabrice Raineri, is laureate of a 2016 ERC Consolidator Grant

Dr. Fabrice RAINERI has been an associate professor at LPN then C2N (in the NanoPhotonIQ team) since 2005, while teaching at Paris Diderot University. His PhD work (2001-04) was on nonlinear Photonic crystals, his post‐doc work was on CW Optical Parametric Oscillators at ICFO (Barcelona, 2005). His current research interests are focused on the investigation of optical nonlinear interactionswithin semiconductor micro/nanostructures and their exploitation for the achievement of optical functionalities useful for data processing. Recently, he led his work towards integrated nanophotonics with a specific effort on hybrid III‐V semiconductors on Silicon structures. He has participated to several national, bilateral PICS European projects, COST actions and FP7/H2020 projects.

In 2016, he was awarded with an H2020 ERC Consildator grant (project HYPNOTIC), which focuses on the development of nano-lasers, extremely compact and efficient light sources needed for the future of information and communication technologies. He has published more than 60 articles in peer reviewed journals, participated in many conferences (> 35 invited talk, conference co-chair of CLEO focus @ECOC2014, technical program committee CLEO Europe 2015, CLEO PR2013,… ).
