Photovoltaics in France : Stéphane Collin, CNRS researcher at C2N, discusses its challenges in the Chaleur humaine podcast by Le Monde
Solar energy plays a key role in the energy transition, but it raises questions: what are its real environmental impacts? Can we rely on it to meet our electricity needs? And what measures are needed to develop its use more effectively and sustainably ? Answers with Stéphane Collin, CNRS researcher at C2N, in the Chaleur Humaine podcast by Le Monde.
Making nanodevices energy-autonomous
How can we power ever-smaller devices—such as miniaturized sensors or medical implants—without relying on an external energy source? To meet this challenge, researchers are exploring the properties of materials at the nanoscale. The ANR SCENIC project is part of this effort. Its goal is to gain a better understanding of how electrical charges behave at the surface of semiconductor nanowires, in order to control them more precisely.
