Fériel Laourine, Laureate of the Renatech 2023 thesis prize

Fériel Laourine, received, during the C'Nano congress, the Renatech thesis prize for her thesis work (defended at C2N and the Institut Jean Lamour) on the "Texturing of the surface of stainless steels by chlorinated plasmas and understanding of the mechanisms involved through the study of the etching of iron, chromium and solid nickel.

Figure 1: SEM image of plasma-sequenced etched stainless steel (Cl2/Ar; H2). Etched patterns can be seen at 2500 nm depth.
Figure 2: XPS spectra of the stainless steel surface after Cl2/Ar plasma etching (top spectra) and after {Cl2/Ar}/{H2} sequence etching (bottom spectra)

She joined C2N, in January 2023, within the PIMENT - Innovation Platform in Micro and Nano-Technologies, where she is strengthening the dry etching resource, in particular on the chlorinated ICP etching machines.
