C2N will welcome the Franco-German Summer School <Quantum Future | Academy 2019> in August

The Université Paris-Saclay, together with the Université de Strasbourg, the Saarland University (Saarbrücken) and the Karlsruhe Institut für Technologie (Germany) will organize the Franco-German Summer School <Quantum Future | Academy 2019> on 24 to 31 August 2019. The academy will take place on the 4 sites, in France and in Germany and will give the students an opportunity to discover the link between quantum physics and the development of new technologies, while building an international and interdisciplinary network of researchers, entrepreneurs, and students.

C2N will host a part of the program on 30 August: a introduction talk of Pascale Senellart, CNRS senior researcher for her outsanding researchs in the field of quantum photonics, a meeting with the team of the startup Quandela, and a visit of the lab including a visit of its new cleanroom facility, the French largest academic Technology Facility of that kind.

The 30 students selected (15 from France, 15 from Germany) will discover the different possible fields of application of quantum physics, with lab visits, workshops, high-end conferences and meetings with companies interested in the development of quantum technologies. A unique occasion to develop soft skills and think about their future career!

The final ceremony of the <Quantum Future | Academy 2019> will take place at the Institut Optique Graduate School in Palaiseau (a few minutes walk from C2N) on the 30th of August 2019 at 4:30 pm. This public event will be opened by the President of Université Paris-Saclay, Sylvie Retailleau. It will include a scientific conference by Alain Aspect about Quantum Technologies. The event will end with a buffet during which the students will meet and discuss with the Paris-Saclay Quantum Ecosystem.

  • The ceremony is open to any person that wishes to participate to this event, however free registration is mandatory. You can register at the website of the event until 15th of August: qfa.sciencesconf.org

Quantum Future Academy is a joint initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Science Research (BMBF) and the French Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation (MESRI). The Academy is hosted by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the University of Strasburg, the University Saarbrücken and Université Paris-Saclay.
