C2N is key partner of the 5-years European project TOCHA, coordinated by the ICN2 in Barcelona

The European Project “Dissipationless topological channels for information transfer and quantum metrology” (TOCHA) was launched on January 31st 2019 by a consortium of 9 leading institutions from 6 European countries, including the C2N that will have a key role in the design and fabrication of topological nanostructures.

TOCHA proposes radically new technologies taking advantage of the unique properties of topological matter that can prove crucial for information processing, quantum communication and metrology. It is funded with 5 Million Euros for the next five years.

As a participating institution, the C2N, represented by Daniel Lanzillotti-Kimura (CNRS researcher), will have a key role in the engineering of photonic and phononic structures and the fabrication of nanostructures in the C2N cleanroom facility.

The official website for the project was launched in February 2019: www.tocha-project.eu
