Portrait of Anthony Piorowicz, the new Technical Director for Infrastructure and Security at C2N

Anthony Piorowicz joined C2N in January as Technical Director for Infrastructure and Security.

A graduate in Civil Engineering and Public Works, Anthony Piorowicz began his career in 1998 as a site supervisor, overseeing construction projects for office buildings, housing, and corporate headquarters. He quickly moved into real estate project management, leading renovation and investment projects at Groupama Immobilier. Through this experience, he developed a comprehensive understanding of the real estate cycle—from the investor (Groupama), through real estate development (Cogedim), to the end-user (CNRS).

At Cogedim, he contributed to the renovation of MPs’ offices at the French National Assembly while the site remained in use—an experience that gave him insight into the challenges of public sector project management. In 2010, he joined the CNRS as Head of the Logistics and Technical Department for the DR5 regional delegation, where he oversaw two major real estate projects: the restructuring of the Meudon site and the construction of the future C2N.

With the support and trust of Jean-Yves Marzin, then Director of the LPN, and Gilles Traimond, Regional Delegate of DR5 in Meudon, he launched in early 2010 a call for proposals to select a programming consultant. Thanks to the collaborative work of several researchers from LPN and IEF, this led to the launch of the design competition for the construction of C2N. Once the studies were completed and following a call for tenders, construction began in September 2015 with the support of Giancarlo Faini and his team.
Anthony supervised the construction until February 2017, when he was called to join a former Director of the CNRS’ DSFIM as Head of the Operations Department at the Paris Police Prefecture. Leading a department of 600 people, he trained in facilities management to oversee a portfolio exceeding 1 million m² across the Île-de-France region.

After five demanding years in this position, he joined a fast-growing SME to support its expansion. In 2024, this company was ranked as the fastest-growing construction firm by Les Échos.

Still in touch with Giancarlo Faini, the latter proposed in December 2024 that Anthony join the dynamic team led by Cynthia Vallerand to help to create and develop the Technical Infrastructure and Safety Department at C2N, which will bring together, for greater efficiency, the Logistics and Infrastructure services and the Health, Safety, and Environment unit
